Step into the Jungle

On my trip to the volcano in Bali, I took a different road than most people do, found a big empty parking lot somewhere remote in a Forrest and started climbing these stairs, all the way up to what seemed to be an abandoned temple. No tourists, No people, just us, surrounded by Nature, Monkeys and the spirits of Bali!

Incredible, the things you can find when you look a little bit further..

Shot by stacking 5 pictures and combining them as a Panorama.

There was no other way to shoot this huge tree with all its detail inside this temple square, in the middle of a rainforest.

The location of this place is so secluded, even the balinees locals did not know about it.

Warming up

In the rainforest of the Udzungwa Mountains National Park, there are so many different animals, insects, plants and other flora and fauna to be found, its mind-blowing. There are more than 400 bird species, 2500 plant species (25% of which are endemics) and 6 primate species. It has the second largest biodiversity of a national park in Africa

After a climb to the top of the 170mtr high Waterfall, we went down and I stopped to wait and make a photo of this little butterfly, warming up its wings and body to get energy. Because the light comes from the opposing direction, you can even look through it's wings!

Flow and Fall

Flow and Fall

This is a rainforest in the island San Miguel, 1 of the 9 islands of the Azoren.

With a long expo you can create these streams of milky waterfalls, fallen down into a pool of clear and cold mountain water. This kind of photography really grabs my attention everytime I see it.

Waiting to fish

Sri Lanka, Mirissa, 2017.

On an incredible green lake, with no tourists, only birds ( more then 35 different species) and early morning you can find fishermen collecting their nets.

I love the colors in this picture, vibrant, green and the boat stands out. Also the water was very flat and calm so you see a nice reflection.
