Kinderdijk -Netherlands - Back in time

The Netherlands- Kinderdijk- Illumination week - I cannot emphasise enough, the spectacular scenery during this sunset. The sun was at its lowest point, giving the golden color like its suppose to. For a long time I have been searching for a landscape, scenery, that feels as if you go back in time. I believe, this scenery, captures that feeling perfectly. The clouds look like they come from an old painting fro 1 of our masters hundreds of years ago. They knew how to capture the light, that is the most important part of a painting. I believe, I came a close to that here in this 1, with nothing else but natural light.

Kinderdijk Nightscape

Kinderdijk Nightscape

A very rage sight, illuminated windmills in the Netherland.

I shot this image, whilst clouds where covering the skies and stars where hard to see. Still, it is a very rare and interesting image, having a look at the history of our windmills in the Rotterdam region.

Mill 't Hoog- and Groenland in a Winter Scene

Mill 't Hoog- and Groenland in a Winter Scene

The photograph captures the essence of winter in the Netherlands, with the frozen river and snow-covered landscape. The mill stands tall in the background, adding to the charm of the scene. The photograph is a testament to the beauty of nature and the importance of preserving historical landmarks.

Mill-tastic

Mill-tastic

If you can show patient, you shall be rewarded. I Went to this windmill several times, but with this sunset, it most definitely was worth the waiting.

The mill is very well preserved, there is pond in front of it, connecting it to a small stream.

Love the darkish scenery on an oktober evening.

IncrediMill

IncrediMill

Incredi-Mill

This windmill, called Wissink Möl, is situated just 5 minutes from my home town. The mill is still in use and on many occasions you can still check out the way they used it, in the 19th century.

There is always a lot of wind on that spot, I guess they knew where to put it and make to most out of it.

Dutch Cheese House

Dutch Cheese House

Many pictures have been made from this ICONIC dutch place. But worth the visit and definitely, I think I found a new angle and scenery to this picture perfect spot. When the clouds where moving and shaping into an epic dutch scene, I knew, with the still water, I could get incredible mirroring of the whole image. If you like this kind of work, please stay tuned and follow me, cause I have a lot of this kind a material coming soon!!

The bridge is open

The bridge is open

Does it get any more Dutch then this?!

Well, put some tulips, cheese and wooden shoes, and it would be the most iconic picture of the Netherlands you will be able to find. Anyways, I love this picture.

The bridge is open so nobody can cross the small canals. The windmills are countless and the sunset and weather conditions perfect.

I will come back to this place this spring/ summer for more amazing shots.

Het Paard van Marken

Het Paard van Marken

Het Paard van Marken.

On 1 of the islands, that we created our selfs, you can find this lighthouse, warning boats that there is land.

It’s an amazing spot, that really gives you a sense of freedom, overlooking holland and the Ijsselmeer.

This day was quite windy and the weather conditions changed all the time, making it possible to be creating this shot, on bright daylight.

House of Cheese

House of Cheese

House of Cheese. Made at the world famous and tourist trap: De Zaanse Schans in Zaanstad, The Netherlands.

A nice cold day in Holland, without wind, made for the perfect reflection on the small water pools, surrounding the houses.

The house on the right is an old cheese house. On the left you can find many windmills. An iconic place.

Mills at the Zaan

Mills at the Zaan

Mills at the Zaan, lined up next to the water.

A picture perfect scenery of holland. Mills, water, wind and the clouds.

Although the water was not flat due to a bit of wind, I still think this is a good shot from the mills in Zaanstad.

Kinderdijk's Sunset moments

Kinderdijk's Sunset moments

When the sun goes down, a great color pallet can be found during the blue-hour after sunset.

In this work you will see:

1. Reflections

2. Illuminated windmill’s

3. A powerful color pallet during sunset

Shot during the Illuminationweek at Kinderdijk.

Dutch Deventer

Dutch Deventer

The Netherlands, Deventer, 2017.

1 of the better looking city's of holland with a rich history is Deventer. Its located at the river 'de Ijssel' and has a beautiful marketplace.

Here on the banks of the river you can find cow's eating on a isolated island and in the back you see the big church. Long expo during the day of about 1.5 minutes.

Windmolen Lichtshow

Windmolen Lichtshow

A very special moment. Once a year the worldfamous windmills at the Kinderdijk in The Netherlands, will be illuminated for 1 week. During that week, you have to be lucky with the weather.

I was, and it gave met the opportunity to shoot some great work.

Autumn at the Mill

Autumn at the Mill

Holland has a great variety of mills. Some are very pretty and nostalgic. I believe the Pelmolen in Rijssen is one of those mills that illustrated our Dutch landscape perfectly and makes it for a typical dutch scenery.

The stream, the autumn colors and the sunrise are just idyllic

Kings Square

Kings Square

This is the Kings Square in Enschede, my hometown. The hospital that has been build on the left has costs 220milion euro.. the most expensive building in our area. The art that has been places in front of the building, connecting the city center to the hospital is pretty nice.

Pelmolen in Rijssen

Pelmolen in Rijssen

At a very beautiful sunset, the autumn started to come. The water is filled with leaves from surrounding trees. That did not stop the water from mirroring the mill and making this sunset special.

The mill has got some nice lights so it standout better and can be seen during the bluehour.

Tower of Enschede

Rembrands Windmill

I am from holland. And I feel lucky. All places have something special. But we have got mills, wooden shoes, tulips and of course cheese. Come visit our small country and check out these EPIC mills!!

Open the Nightbridge

Open the Nightbridge

I have not yet seen this bridge down, during my visits to Kinderdijk.

Maybe the close it because of the people going to stand on it during the night, I don’t know.

After my perfect sunset, as can be seen in my other work, the clouds came rolling in this evening, and you wil find a different kind of nightscaping in this image.

I like the composition and Illuminated mills in this image.

KPN Venture Building Rotterdam

The Netherlands, Rotterdam, 2017

From this angle you can see all the way up to the point of the offices of KPN company. In this picture I like the shadows and white tones that are created by both the sun and clear sky and also the lines of the building. The architect has chosen a particular building material with a lot of glass to give the lines strengt when hit by the sun.

Rolling windmill

Rolling windmill

Windmill Magic from The Netherlands!!

Another great moody picture! on the right the sunset was at its last breath, before making room for a thunderstorm from the left to come rolling in!! ⠀

What a great spot, when conditions are perfect!!

Waste NO space

The Coberco Milkhall in Enschede is a stunning architectural masterpiece that is a must-see for any photography enthusiast. Located in the heart of the city, this iconic building has been a part of the Enschede landscape for over a century and is a symbol of the city's industrial heritage.

The Milkhall was built in 1903 and was originally used as a dairy processing facility. The building's design is a perfect blend of Art Nouveau and Industrial architecture, featuring a striking red brick facade and beautiful Art Nouveau elements such as the curved lines and intricate details. The building's most striking feature is its large, rounded dome, which is a true testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the architects and builders who designed and constructed it.

In recent years, the Milkhall has undergone extensive renovations and has been converted into a cultural and event center. The building now houses a variety of exhibitions, concerts, and events, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists.

The Milkhall is a photographer's dream, with its unique architecture and rich history providing endless opportunities for creative and inspiring shots. The building's exterior is particularly striking, with its red brick facade and intricate details making for a perfect backdrop for portraits or street photography. The interior of the building is also a photographer's paradise, with its high ceilings, large windows, and industrial elements providing a unique and interesting environment for photos.

In addition to its architectural beauty, the Milkhall also offers a glimpse into Enschede's industrial past and is a great way to explore the city's history and culture. Whether you're a professional photographer or an amateur with a passion for architecture, the Coberco Milkhall in Enschede is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the city.

A great sunset during this nights at the Illumination week at the Kinderdijk.

This mill is not seen by many tourists and people visiting the show. But if you search a bit more you will be able to find great reflections and different spots that give you a great scenery too.

If you look very closely, you will see what my focus is in this image.

A great photogenic spot. Made by architects that had a good eye for reflection. The water was not completely still because of the windy situation. But I love the way the tops are highlighted by the setting sun in late autumn
