Forces of Thunder

Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, 2017.

An evening in Kuala Lumpur. Like so many times, the sunset's and the Clouds come rolling in from the East. They create massive Thunderstorms, hitting the Down-town area of KL.

Mosque 2.0

Big, Bigger, Biggest.

I have never seen such a big mosque in my life. This one is located in KL and was build in 2004-2009 for a sum of 55 million Dollars..

The Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque is a beautiful building though and sits at a man-made lake in Kuala Lumpur's Putrajaya.

The yellow of the lights is a perfect contrasting color palet for the dark blue sky and waterfront.

Lines in the dark

I was looking for the lines of this bridge to be highlighted against the darkening background.

The architect did a great job designing this bridge pillars to hold the bridge up. I like that the park around it has the same kind of lines and is set up from the right point of view

Energy

Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, May 2017.

A very incredible thunderstorm heading for the city Kuala Lumpur. You can see how the cloud is formed and where the energy is released. The amount of Energy that is created in these kind of Cumulus clouds is beyond our imagination!

Shot this with a 24-77mm, tripod and no remote ( forgot it..).
The color of the clouds and the city is just amazing.

This is an image that I stacked including 3 images. This emphasizes the power of these clouds, and created an even better understanding of how the clouds produce these massif lightning bolts.

Two at once

Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, 2017.

Seeing a thunderstorm evolve is a powerful sight. The clouds are colliding, the air is totally changed in 15 minutes and the sound of thunder start swelling up.

I had the luck of seeing this thunderstorm evolve right above KL city.
The moment of this shot was for me the first real thunderstorm that I caught on camera, a special moment.

I like that the 2 lightning rods come down and hit the ground at the same time. The 2 building emphasize this double impact.

A perfect Cloud

Kuala Lumpur 2017.

Standing on our flat, as tall as 37 stories, I had the luck of seeing this thunderstorm roling in over the Down town city of Kuala Lumpur, about 25 km away from the building.

I took my 100-400 telelens, but it on a tripod, and zoomed in with liveview to get the best shot possible. The colors in the clouds were lit up by the setting sun.
