Flying a balloon in the valleys of Cappadocia is magical. Period.

But standing on the ground, taking pictures of the event is also very cool. You can see the balloons getting ready from all sides and flying over Göreme. This happens only at sunrise, therefore the sky is so pink and colorful.

In the back you see the mountain of Uçhisar, a city where many people stay for a couple of nights to enjoy this spectacular sight.

A very close fly-by of one of the balloons taking off from the rose valley of Göreme. Its crazy that you can almost touch them.

The balloons fly only when there is almost no wind. They can then steer the balloon in the right direction.

The mountain in the back is situated in the Göreme Tarihi Milli Parkı.

Traveling 2 hrs by car, just to pinpoint this city in google maps, I expected nothing. What I got was an amazing sunset and a great trip 1 of the best places in the coastline of Turkey.
